Rumex-White  is considered the one of the most potent inhibitor of tyrosinase, which is why it is used in cosmetics as a depigmenting agent and lightener. In comparison to other well-known-skin whitening agents, it is much more effective and provides good stability especially in emulsions and other cosmetic formulations. In the search,the efficacy of 3% Rumex-white cream and 4% HQ cream were compared. At the end of the evaluation, the rumex-containing cream gave close to similar results as HQ. HQ cream performed slightly better. Rumex white 3% cream is a safe and effective skin-lightening agent for melasma and is comparable in efficacy with 4% HQ cream.

It successfully reduces unwanted pigmentation and skin redness for a more even complexion, brighter and lighter skin tone, as well as age spot reduction. Rumex White is effective in reducing the appearance of photo-ageing. It strongly inhibits the activity of tyrosinase and reduce the synthesis of melanin. Rumex white has whitening/lightening effect.
