DL alpha-Tocopherol acetate (Vitamin E Natural) is a natural anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing agent. It exhibits dermal moisture content balancing, healing promotion and skin protection (anti-radical properties). It is a powerful biological antioxidant, reacting primarily with reactive oxygen species and playing an important role in photoprotection, reducing UV-induced free radical damage to the skin. It protects the product formulation or carrier oil from lipid peroxidation and skin cells from the adverse effects of free radicals. It also protects cells against the effects of free radicals which are formed as by-products of the body’s metabolic processes.

Natural mixed tocopherols (forms of vitamin E), consisting of d-alpha, d-beta, d-gamma, and d-delta tocopherol, can help maintain the freshness and shelf life of products. They are a natural alternative to synthetic antioxidants, such as BHT, BHA and TBHQ.
